Fear is a big part.Ignorance is another.
Ingrained culture/indoctrination as well.
I'm quite amused by the christian above who put "truth" -- all the evidence that shows much of christianity to be false, and they put "truth." There's the ignorance I was talking about.
You know, believers, all of us would completely respect an honest statement along the lines of, "I know there's evidence against it, but I choose to believe anyway out of hope." That's honest.
But the lies that so many christians put out to try and justify things? Those deserve no respect.
