road and track. it was used since each car manufacture could exceed 500 special cars. the real r/t was used for racing purposes only. bare body sent to dodge dealers . were they were then sold to drag racing teams under dodge sponsorship . others went to NASCAR teams. the challenger series was made for road racing. the hemi engine was for nascar drag racing. the 340 engine with tri power or crossram induction was used for road racing. they were fun times. real safe street racing. brand new road runner . 81.32 per month. of the body in white cars. very very few left. to fragile. not for resale.
